On 16 November 2024, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India concluded its six-day Executive Capacity Building Programme on Human Rights, held from 11 to 16 November 2024 under ITEC in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs. It trained 33 senior participants from National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) of eight Global South countries: Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Jordan. Experts led 19 sessions on topics including democracy, socio-economic and cultural rights, digital security and the international human rights framework. NHRC Acting Chairperson Vijaya Bharathi Sayani addressed the inaugural session.
