The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Mount Everest Expedition Team was given a hero's welcome at DGNCC Camp, New Delhi, on 5 June 2025 after summiting the world's highest peak on 18 May 2025. The team of ten cadets, five boys and five girls with an average age of 19, achieved a 100% summit success rate despite harsh weather. The climb was the third successful NCC expedition to Mount Everest, after 2013 and 2016. All ten were novice climbers who trained with a preparatory ascent of Mt. Abi Gamin and a winter camp at the Army Mountaineering Institute, Siachen Base Camp. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh had flagged off the expedition on 3 April 2025.
