NCB and Rajasthan Police bust mephedrone lab in Sirohi

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Rajasthan Police busted a clandestine drug lab in a remote village of Sirohi district, Rajasthan, the Home Ministry said on 15 November 2025.

Summary

In the Sirohi operation, hundreds of kilograms of chemicals were seized — enough to make about 100 kg of mephedrone worth around ₹40 crore at street prices — and the mastermind and four others were arrested. The NCB said mephedrone is increasingly used as a psychotropic drug in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. It had used monthly district-level NCORD (Narco Coordination Centre) meetings to sensitise district police and had shared red-flag indicators of clandestine labs with police across the country.
