Summary

The Indian Navy held the induction ceremony of LSAM 14 (Yard 82), the seventh Missile cum Ammunition (MCA) Barge, at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, on 7 January 2025. LSAM 14 is one of eight MCA barges contracted on 19 February 2021 with the MSME shipyard SECON Engineering Projects Pvt. Ltd., Visakhapatnam. The barges were indigenously designed with an Indian ship-design firm, model-tested at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam, and built to Indian Register of Shipping rules; they help transport and embark ammunition to Navy platforms alongside jetties and at outer harbours.
