Summary
The National Tribal Health Conclave 2025 was organised on 20 January 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram inaugurated the conclave, which drew more than 400 participants. Letters of Intent were exchanged between the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and AIIMS Delhi for adopting a tribal block in Odisha for an etiological study, field research and capacity building. The ministry highlighted the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Chair of Tribal Health and Haematology at AIIMS Delhi and 15 Centres of Competence sanctioned in 14 states for sickle cell diagnosis, as part of the goal to eliminate sickle cell anaemia by 2047. A national Training of Trainers on sickle cell anaemia followed on 21–22 January at Kaushal Bhawan.
