Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired the National Pulses Consultation and Strategy Meeting at the Food Legumes Research Platform in Amlaha, Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, on 7 February 2026, where the roadmap for the Mission for self-reliance in pulses was finalised. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the Odisha Deputy Chief Minister, state agriculture ministers, scientists including ICAR–ICARDA representatives, farmers, FPOs, seed companies and millers took part. Chouhan inaugurated a new FLRP campus and outlined a cluster model, seed villages and 1,000 pulse mills, with a seed-to-market focus on the whole value chain. He said India should move from importing to exporting pulses, and that farmers' interests would not be compromised in international trade agreements. The Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses was approved in October 2025.
