The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced on 10 July 2026 a nationwide National Mass Pledge Against Drug Abuse on 18 August 2026 to mark the 6th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). The pledge will be taken in physical and online mode across ministries, educational institutions, PSUs, police, CAPFs and social organisations. A coordination meeting chaired by Joint Secretary (Drug Prevention) Dr. Sandeep Rewaji Rathod also stressed promoting the drug de-addiction helpline 14446.
