National Green Hydrogen Mission: 12 pilot projects for 70 hydrogen vehicles on 21 routes
MNRE informed on 29 July 2026 that 12 transport pilot projects have been awarded under the National Green Hydrogen Mission to deploy 70 hydrogen-powered vehicles and 16 refuelling stations across 21 routes.

Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), 12 pilot projects have been awarded for deployment of 70 hydrogen-powered vehicles – 27 buses and 43 trucks, including Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles and Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine vehicles – along with 16 Hydrogen Refuelling Stations across 21 routes in different States. About Rs 410.77 crore of financial assistance has been allocated, of which Rs 41.582 crore has been released. Routes include Greater Noida–Delhi–Agra and Bhubaneswar–Konark–Puri (NTPC), Pune–Mumbai and Ahmedabad–Vadodara–Surat (Tata Motors + IOCL) and Thiruvananthapuram–Kochi (ANERT + BPCL).
