11th meeting of the National Committee on Dam Safety held
The National Committee on Dam Safety (NCDS), constituted under Section 5 of the Dam Safety Act, 2021, held its 11th meeting in New Delhi on 20 January 2026.
Summary
The meeting at Dr Ambedkar International Centre was chaired by Anupam Prasad, Chairman of the Central Water Commission and of the NCDS. It was attended by the Department of Water Resources, CWC, NDMA, CEA, MoEFCC, IMD, GSI, NRSC and the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), officials of seven states, heads of 28 State Dam Safety Organisations and representatives of three Union Territories. The NCDS acts as a policy think tank for the NDSA; its functions are listed in the First Schedule of the Act.
