Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched the second National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (NAP-AMR 2.0) for 2025–29 in New Delhi on 18 November 2025, the first day of WHO's World AMR Awareness Week.

Key strategies include awareness, education and training, stronger laboratory capacity and infection control in healthcare facilities. Principal Scientific Adviser Dr A.K. Sood attended the launch.
