Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off cruise operations from the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT) on 21 April 2025. Developed at Ballard Pier under the Cruise Bharat Mission, the MICT is India's largest cruise terminal, with a built-up area of more than 4,15,000 sq ft and 72 check-in and immigration counters. It is designed to handle 1 million passengers a year (about 10,000 a day) and 5 ships simultaneously. The Minister also inaugurated the renovated Fire Memorial at Victoria Docks and attended MoU signings for infrastructure projects worth ₹5,700 crore at Vadhavan Port.
