The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) held the second pre-release consultative workshop on the base revision of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Index of Industrial Production (IIP) at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on 23 December 2025, after the first in Mumbai on 26 November 2025. MoSPI said the new CPI series with base year 2024 is due on 12 February 2026, and the new National Accounts and IIP series with base year 2022-23 are due on 27 February 2026 and 28 May 2026. MoSPI Secretary Saurabh Garg said the revised series will use the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises for the informal sector, double deflation, and new data sources such as GST and PFMS.
