Summary

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the findings of its pilot study on the Annual Survey of Services Sector Enterprises (ASSSE) on 30 April 2025. Conducted in two phases, it used a GSTN-based enterprise frame for the first time, covering service enterprises registered under the Companies Act, 1956 or 2013, or the LLP Act, 2008. The pilot lays the ground for a full-scale annual survey of incorporated service sector enterprises from January 2026. The unincorporated part of the sector is already covered by the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE).
