The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) on 29 April 2025 released findings of the inaugural Forward-Looking Survey on Private Sector CAPEX Investment Intentions, conducted by the National Statistical Office between November 2024 and January 2025 in response to a 2022-23 recommendation of the Parliamentary Standing Committee. The provisional capital expenditure per enterprise for new assets in 2024-25 was estimated at ₹172.2 crore, and aggregate CAPEX (unweighted) rose 66.3% over 2021-22 to 2024-25. 40.3% of enterprises planned to undertake CAPEX on core assets in 2024-25. It was MoSPI's first web-based, self-administered survey of the corporate sector, supported by chatbot assistance.
