ASUSE 2025: 7.92 crore unincorporated non-agricultural establishments; women head over 60% of manufacturing units

On 6 May 2026 MoSPI released the detailed report of the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2025, which estimates 7.92 crore unincorporated non-agricultural establishments and finds female proprietors heading over 60% of manufacturing establishments.

The detailed report and unit-level data of the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2025, covering January–December 2025, were released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on 6 May 2026, after key results were issued as a factsheet on 24 March 2026. The survey estimates 7.92 crore unincorporated non-agricultural establishments; compared with ASUSE 2023-24 (October 2023–September 2024), establishments grew 7.97%, workers 6.18% and GVA 10.87%. Female proprietors headed more than 60% of manufacturing establishments, women made up about 29% of the workforce, and about 80% of outstanding loans came from institutional sources. ASUSE covers manufacturing, trade and services, excluding construction.
