The Ministry of Earth Sciences and the Government of Puducherry signed an MoU on marine research, blue economy and coastal resilience in New Delhi on 12 February 2026.

Summary

The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and the Department of Science, Technology and Environment of the Government of Puducherry signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi on 12 February 2026. MoES Secretary M. Ravichandran and Puducherry Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan signed it. The MoU covers six areas: sustainable marine fisheries, offshore wind energy, desalination, ocean climate advisories and real-time monitoring, coastal management and erosion control, and upgrading the Marine Spatial Planning pilot into a full model.
