On 4 November 2024, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) issued a call for proposals to set up Centres of Excellence (CoE) under the Research and Development (R&D) Scheme of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The CoEs are meant to drive integrated research across the green hydrogen value chain, covering production, storage and utilisation. MNRE had released guidelines for the R&D Scheme on 15 March 2024. The Mission has an outlay of ₹19,744 crore up to FY 2029-30.
