The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced on 31 August 2025 that it had constituted Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs), one each for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The teams will make on-the-spot assessments of damage from heavy rainfall, floods, flash floods, cloudbursts and landslides and of the relief work done by the State Governments, visiting the affected districts early the next week. Each team is led by a Joint Secretary-level officer of the MHA or NDMA and includes officers from the Departments of Expenditure, Agriculture, Jal Shakti, Power, Road Transport and Highways, and Rural Development.
