On 23 November 2024, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), C-DAC, the Indian toy industry and the LEGO Group held the convocation of the first batch of 15 young engineers trained for a year under MeitY's electronic toys project, at MeitY. The engineers, selected from across India from SC/ST and North Eastern Region backgrounds, spent the first six months designing and developing electronic toys in C-DAC toy labs. The LEGO Group joined as knowledge partner, with its Creative Play Lab delivering webinars from October 2023 to March 2024. At the event, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan announced the Electronic Toy Hackathon (e-Toycathon), and Toys Zone offered appointment letters to 10 trained students.
