On 23 October 2025, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi, delivered 'Mahe' to the Indian Navy; the delivery was announced on 24 October. It is the first of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) that CSL is building. The ship is named after the historic port town of Mahe in the Union Territory of Puducherry. CSL designed and built it in India, with over 80% indigenous content. It is about 78 metres long, displaces around 1,100 tons, and is equipped for underwater surveillance, low-intensity maritime operations, anti-submarine warfare in coastal waters and mine laying.
