Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the Griha Pravesh (housewarming) of 5 lakh completed rural houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in Maharashtra at a beneficiary conference in Satara on 15 May 2026, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced central share assistance of ₹8,368.50 crore for Maharashtra under PMAY-G for 2026-27 and approved 35 rural road projects worth ₹122.98 crore. Shivraj Singh Chouhan also said the Viksit Bharat G-RAM-G Yojana would be launched on 1 July. PMAY-G was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 20 November 2016 at Agra, restructuring the earlier Indira Awaas Yojana.
