THDC India Limited declared the Commercial Operation Date of Unit 1 of the 2×660 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh in the midnight of 25 January 2025.

Summary

THDC India Limited declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of Unit 1 of the 2×660 MW (1,320 MW) Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant (KSTPP) in Uttar Pradesh in the midnight of 25 January 2025, after grid synchronisation, full-load testing and a 72-hour trial run. KSTPP is THDC's step into thermal power beyond its core hydropower business. Electricity from the plant is allocated to Uttar Pradesh (64.7%), Rajasthan (21.3%), Uttarakhand (3.9%) and unallocated (10.1%).
