Khelo India Annual Calendar launched to build year-round competition structure

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports launched a comprehensive Annual Calendar under the Khelo India initiative on 18 May 2025. Minister Mansukh Mandaviya called it a strategic blueprint to strengthen India's domestic competition structure as the country prepares for the Commonwealth Games 2030 and the Olympic Games 2036. Besides the existing Khelo India Youth, University, Para and Winter Games, new formats such as Khelo India Beach Games, School Games (in a district–state–national tiered structure), Water Sports, North-East Games, Martial Art Games, Tribal Games and Swadeshi Games will be added, each with defined host States/UTs. In the current sporting year the Winter Games were held in Jammu & Kashmir (Gulmarg), the Para Games in Delhi and the Youth Games in Bihar.
