Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth had flagged off the expedition from New Delhi on 26 March 2025; it was organised to commemorate 60 years of NIM Uttarkashi. The team was led by Col Anshuman Bhadauria, Principal NIM, and Col Hem Chandra Singh, Principal JIM&WS, with five instructors. As part of acclimatisation, the team had summited Mt Lobuche (6,119 m) on 18 April 2025.
