Social Justice Ministry launches JEEVAN app for senior citizens and SHATAYU caregiver dashboard

On 22 May 2026 Social Justice Minister Dr Virendra Kumar launched the JEEVAN mobile app for senior citizens and the SHATAYU dashboard showing the availability of geriatric caregivers.

Summary

The JEEVAN (Joint Elderly Empowerment & Virtual Assistance Network) mobile app for senior citizens was launched on 22 May 2026 by Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr Virendra Kumar. The app gives information on Government schemes, emergency assistance and senior citizen homes supported by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. The SHATAYU (Senior Holistic Care Assistance and Training For Your Utility) dashboard, launched at a national workshop on 'Creating a Well-Functioning Care Economy', shows the availability of geriatric caregivers by district and State.
