USBRL enables machine-based track maintenance and coach overhaul for Kashmir valley
On 27 July 2025, the Railway Ministry said the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link has enabled modern track maintenance in the Kashmir valley and overhaul of valley coaches at Lucknow.

DEMU and MEMU coaches operating in the valley are being taken through the new link to the Lucknow workshop for periodic overhaul and new amenities.
