Jal Shakti Ministry launches Jal Seva Aankalan for Gram Panchayat-led water service assessment

Jal Seva Aankalan, a Gram Panchayat-led digital tool for assessing drinking water service functionality, was e-launched on the Jal Jeevan Mission portal by Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil on 30 December 2025. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation said the tool lets villages self-assess the regularity, adequacy, quality and sustainability of water supply in Har Ghar Jal villages, putting Village Water and Sanitation Committees at the centre instead of relying only on costly third-party surveys.
