Varanasi becomes IWAI's sixth regional office after Guwahati, Patna, Kochi, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. With a sub-office at Prayagraj, the office will oversee the 487 km stretch from Majhua to the Varanasi Multi-Modal Terminal and on to Prayagraj, with the World Bank-supported Jal Marg Vikas Project as a key priority.
