The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) under the Health Ministry was recognised as the WHO South-East Asia Regulatory Network (SEARN) Regional Centre of Excellence in Pharmacovigilance and Technical Centre in Quality of Medicines, the ministry said on 5 August 2026. The recognition came at SEARN's 10th Anniversary Meeting in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 4–5 August 2026. SEARN, set up in 2016 by the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office, helps national regulators cooperate on regulatory convergence, capacity building and reliance mechanisms.
