From 19 to 21 October 2024, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, INS Suvarna paid a port call for operational turnaround during her ongoing anti-piracy deployment in the Gulf of Aden. The Commanding Officer, Cdr Lalit Yadav, called on Rear Admiral A.R. Hassan, Commander of the Tanzania People's Defence Force (TPDF) Naval Forces, and the High Commissioner of India to Tanzania, Bishwadip Dey. The two navies held joint training on Visit Board Search Seizure, damage control and fire-fighting drills; the ship handed over an Infantry Weapon Training Simulator to the TPDF and later carried out joint EEZ surveillance with the TPDF Navy, in line with India's vision of SAGAR.
