Nagpur's 8.9 km Indora Chowk–Dighori flyover, built with UHPFRC, inaugurated and named after Dr K.B. Hedgewar

On 19 September 2026, the 8.9 km Indora Chowk–Dighori flyover on NH-353D in Nagpur, Maharashtra, was inaugurated in the presence of Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Summary

The Indora Chowk–Dighori flyover connects the northern and southern parts of Nagpur and was built by NHAI at a cost of about ₹1,000 crore. Nitin Gadkari said Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) allowed longer spans between piers and faster construction, and that travel time between Indora and Dighori falls from about 1 hour to 10–15 minutes. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the flyover will be named after Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar to mark the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
