The Indian Navy announced on 7 March 2025 that the 2025 edition of its capstone Theatre Level Operational Exercise (TROPEX) had culminated in early March after three months from January. It included an amphibious exercise (AMPHEX), a joint work-up phase, cyber and electronic warfare, and a tactical phase. The theatre covered the Indian Ocean, about 4,300 nm from north to south up to 35° South and 5,000 nm from the Strait of Hormuz to the Sunda and Lombok Straits. TROPEX 25 involved 65–70 naval ships, 9–10 submarines and over 80 aircraft. The Army, Air Force and Coast Guard took part, including Su-30, Jaguar, C-130 and AWACS aircraft, over 600 infantry troops and more than 10 ICG ships.
