Indian Navy inducts fifth 25T Bollard Pull tug 'Ojas' at Visakhapatnam

On 27 June 2025, the Indian Navy inducted 'Ojas', the fifth 25-tonne Bollard Pull tug, at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

Tug Ojas, the fifth 25-tonne Bollard Pull (BP) tug, was inducted into the Indian Navy at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam, on 27 June 2025. The tug is part of a contract for six 25T BP tugs signed with Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), Kolkata, on 12 November 2021. The shipyard designed and built the tugs indigenously under Indian Register of Shipping rules. The tugs assist naval ships and submarines in berthing, unberthing and manoeuvring in confined waters, provide afloat firefighting support, and can conduct limited search and rescue.
