Indian Light Tank fires accurately at over 4,200 m altitude
DRDO's Indian Light Tank fired a number of rounds accurately at an altitude of more than 4,200 m during high-altitude trials, the Defence Ministry said on 12 December 2024.

The Indian Light Tank (ILT) achieved a major milestone by firing a number of rounds at different ranges with consistently accurate results at a high-altitude location above 4,200 m, the Ministry of Defence said on 12 December 2024. The trials followed Phase I trials in a desert environment in September 2024. The tank has been designed and developed by the Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), DRDO's Chennai-based laboratory, and is manufactured by industry partner Larsen & Toubro. It is a 25-ton class armoured fighting vehicle for high-altitude use, and the Indian Air Force also demonstrated its airlift capability. The tank will undergo more trials before being offered for user trials.
