It reiterated its 14 January advisory asking Indian citizens and PIOs to avoid areas of protests, keep passports and IDs ready, stay in contact with the Embassy and register on the MEA portal, with families in India registering on their behalf if internet disruptions prevented it. Five days later, on 28 February, the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran.
