IndiaAI and ICMR sign MoU to accelerate responsible AI adoption in healthcare
On 7 May 2026 IndiaAI, under MeitY, signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) under which ICMR will share datasets and models from its MIDAS framework on the AIKosh platform and get subsidised GPU compute.

IndiaAI, the Government's flagship AI initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and IT implemented through the Digital India Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on 7 May 2026 to build an interoperable AI ecosystem for healthcare. ICMR will contribute anonymised, ethics-approved health research datasets, AI models and toolkits developed under its Medical Information Data for AI Solutions (MIDAS) framework to IndiaAI's AIKosh dataset platform. In return, IndiaAI will give ICMR access to GPU-based and high-performance computing at subsidised rates.
