India and UK hold 25th Defence Consultative Group meeting

India and the United Kingdom held the 25th Defence Consultative Group (DCG) meeting in New Delhi on 21 August 2026, co-chaired by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and UK Permanent Under Secretary for Defence Jeremy Pocklington. The two sides reviewed defence industrial cooperation, with emphasis on R&D, through the India–UK Vision 2035 and the Ten-Year Defence Industrial Roadmap, and agreed to expand joint exercises, training and capacity building. They noted maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, including the Regional Maritime Security Centre of Excellence (RMSCE) set up under the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI). It was Pocklington's first visit to India in that role; he also met Chief of Defence Staff General N.S. Raja Subramani.
