India and UK hold 13th Economic and Financial Dialogue in London

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves held the 13th India-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue in London on 9 April 2025 and adopted a Joint Statement.

Summary

The 13th Ministerial meeting of the India-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) was held in London on 9 April 2025. The Indian delegation was led by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and the UK side by Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves; the UK delegation included the Governor of the Bank of England, while the RBI Governor attended virtually. Both sides reaffirmed collaboration in financial services, FinTech and the digital economy, and between regulators, and at bilateral and multilateral fora on issues including affordable finance for low-carbon growth, taxation and illicit financial flows. They welcomed UK universities setting up campuses in India, the India-UK Financial Partnership report on direct listing in IFSC GIFT City, and a new private-sector workstream on green finance. The dialogue ended with the adoption of a Joint Statement.
