India's textile exports rise 16.1% to ₹29,776 crore in August 2026

On 17 September 2026, the Ministry of Textiles said India's textile exports rose 16.1% year-on-year to ₹29,776 crore in August 2026, from ₹25,656 crore in August 2025.

India's textile exports for April–August 2026 reached ₹1.43 lakh crore, up 10.3% over the same period last year, the Ministry of Textiles said. In August 2026, handicrafts (excluding handmade carpets) grew fastest at 41.4%, followed by cotton yarn, fabrics, made-ups and handloom products at 24.1%, man-made textiles at 19.9%, carpets at 15.0% and ready-made garments at 6.1%. For April–August, handicrafts grew 44.0% and cotton textiles 18.0%.
