The 11th edition of the India–Sri Lanka joint military exercise Mitra Shakti began at the Foreign Training Node, Belagavi, Karnataka, on 10 November 2025 and runs until 23 November.
Summary
Exercise Mitra Shakti 2025 has 170 Indian personnel, mainly from the Rajput Regiment, and 135 Sri Lankan personnel, mainly from the Gajaba Regiment, plus 20 Indian Air Force and 10 Sri Lankan Air Force personnel. Its aim is to jointly rehearse sub-conventional operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate, with drills on counter-terrorist raids, search and destroy missions, heliborne operations, drones and counter-drone systems, and casualty evacuation. The curriculum also includes the Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR), combat reflex shooting and yoga.
