India and Rwanda held the second Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting in New Delhi on 6–7 July 2026 and agreed to expand cooperation in training, exercises, medical cooperation and defence industry.
Summary
The second Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting between India and Rwanda was held in New Delhi on 6–7 July 2026. Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad of the Ministry of Defence and Brig Gen Louis Kanobayier, Chief J7 of the Rwanda Defence Force headquarters, co-chaired it. The two sides agreed to expand partnership in military training, exercises, medical cooperation and defence industries, with a time-bound implementation plan. The India–Rwanda MoU on defence cooperation was signed in July 2018 during PM Modi's visit to Rwanda.
