India and Morocco agree to double trade at 7th Joint Commission

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada concluded an official visit to Morocco on 25 August 2026, during which he co-chaired the 7th session of the India–Morocco Joint Commission with Omar Hejira, Morocco's Secretary of State for Foreign Trade. The two sides agreed to double bilateral trade within five years and to set up a Joint Working Group to explore a preferential trade agreement. They will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, and the 8th Joint Commission will be held in New Delhi. Prasada also visited the plant of India-Maroc Phosphore (IMACID), a joint venture of Morocco's OCP Group with Indian partners in phosphates and fertilisers.
