India's installed wind power capacity reached 57,443 MW as on 30 June 2026, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy told Parliament on 22 July 2026, with India ranked 4th globally in wind installations per the GWEC Report 2026.

Summary

MNRE data show wind power generation rose to 106 billion units in FY 2025-26 from 83 billion units in each of the two previous years. Wind capacity additions were 3,253 MW in 2023-24, 4,151 MW in 2024-25 and 6,057 MW in 2025-26. MNRE listed the Green Energy Corridor scheme for transmission among the government's support measures.
