India hosts third ITU-T FG-AINN meeting on AI-native telecom networks in New Delhi
On 11 June 2025 in New Delhi, the third meeting of the ITU-T Focus Group FG-AINN on AI-native telecommunication networks was inaugurated, organised by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC).

The third meeting of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) Focus Group FG-AINN, on integrating artificial intelligence natively into telecom networks, was inaugurated in New Delhi on 11 June 2025. The three-day ITU event was organised by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications. Sanjeev Bidwai, Member (T), Digital Communications Commission, said AI-native networks represent a fundamental shift in telecom design, and Seizo Onoe, Director of the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Bureau, gave a video address. The FG-AINN Build-a-thon 2025, launched jointly by TEC and ITU as part of the meeting, drew 23 teams with 57 participants, of which 10 teams were shortlisted for the final presentation on 13 June 2025.
