On 26 February 2025 the Government of Seychelles officially received a Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) donated by the Government of India, at a ceremony at the Seychelles Coast Guard base on Ile Perseverance. The vessel is designed for coastal defence, patrol and surveillance and will strengthen the Seychelles Defence Forces in protecting the country's maritime domain and Exclusive Economic Zone. President Wavel Ramkalawan, Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces, attended along with Vice-President Ahmed Afif, Indian High Commissioner Kartik Pande and Indian Navy officials, and presented the national flag for the newly commissioned vessel.
