On 3 February 2025, in Faridabad, Haryana, DBT Secretary Dr Rajesh Gokhale dedicated India's first Ferret Research Facility at the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) in the NCR Biotech Science Cluster. The facility will support vaccine development, therapeutic testing and research into emerging infectious diseases. He also launched GARBH-INi-DRISHTI, the DBT data repository and information-sharing hub, with clinical data, images and biospecimens from over 12,000 pregnant women, newborns and postpartum mothers, one of South Asia's largest maternal and child health databases. THSTI also signed a technology transfer agreement with Sundyota Numandis Probioceuticals to commercialise a synthetic microbial consortium of Lactobacillus crispatus.
