A total of 11,49,334 electric two-wheelers were sold, 21% more than the 9,48,561 sold in 2023-24, while sales of electric three-wheelers (L5) rose 57% to 1,59,235 units. Under the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme, 10,10,101 e-two-wheelers and 1,22,982 e-three-wheelers (L5) were registered on the VAHAN portal in 2024-25. MHI notified PM E-DRIVE on 29 September 2024 with an outlay of ₹10,900 crore over two years up to 31 March 2026, and the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) 2024 was subsumed in it.
