The African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), at the 21st General Session of its General Conference held in New Delhi from 21 to 24 February 2025, unanimously elected India as President for the triennium 2025-27, with Malaysia (Asia) and Ghana (Africa) as Vice-Presidents. India took over the presidency from Ghana; Minister of State for Rural Development Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani presided over the business sessions. The conference approved the 2025-27 work programme and budget, new members and an amendment to AARDO's Constitution pending since 2012, and decided that India would host the 22nd session in 2027-28. AARDO, an inter-governmental organisation, was formed in 1962.
