India's defence exports hit a record ₹23,622 crore in FY 2024-25

India's defence exports rose 12.04% to a record ₹23,622 crore in the financial year 2024-25 that ended on 31 March 2025, the Defence Ministry said on 1 April 2025.

India's defence exports reached a record ₹23,622 crore (about US$ 2.76 billion) in the financial year 2024-25, which ended on 31 March 2025, the Ministry of Defence said on 1 April 2025. That is ₹2,539 crore, or 12.04%, more than the ₹21,083 crore of 2023-24. Defence Public Sector Undertakings raised their exports by 42.85% to ₹8,389 crore, while the private sector contributed ₹15,233 crore. Items ranging from ammunition and arms to sub-systems and parts were exported to around 80 countries. The Department of Defence Production issued 1,762 export authorisations in 2024-25, against 1,507 the year before. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India is marching towards a target of ₹50,000 crore of defence exports by 2029.
