The India–Canada trade dialogue followed the direction given by the two Prime Ministers at the G7 meeting in Kananaskis and the Foreign Ministers' joint statement of 13 October 2025, which called trade the cornerstone of bilateral ties. The ministers noted that bilateral trade in goods and services reached US$ 23.66 billion in 2024, with merchandise trade of nearly US$ 8.98 billion, up 10%. They agreed to encourage long-term supply-chain partnerships in critical minerals and clean energy and to expand trade and investment in priority sectors.
